I am so excited that this seat fits that I had to write a review the same day I installed it. I was down to the wire choosing between this seat and a Safety 1st seat. Both Diono and Safety 1st put their seats through European standards of safety, which includes rating their safety in the event your car should roll. To me, that's a big deal! And you'd be surprised how many of the "safest" brands state-side don't uphold to European standards. Both Diono and Safety 1st performed well across the board in the US and in Europe for safety tests. At first, we went with Safety 1st because other reviewers had said it was wide but that the height would fit in a Toyota Camry and allow for legroom for the front seat. No such luck for us. I am 6' and my husband is 6'4". We need all the legroom we can get! This seat is more narrow than safety 1st but almost exactly the same height dimension. So was I a total shmuck in ordering the same height dimension and expecting a different result? Was I out of my mind delusional thinking that our too-tall child could have a tall car seat to grow with him/her and allow him/her to stay facing the back longer and more safely?? NO! The Diono fits!! I can move BOTH front seats all the way back in the Camry for optimal legroom AND the car seat isn't crushed or compromised in the middle back! ORDER THE ANGLE ADJUSTER! It really did give another 2-3" which allowed me to move the seats all the way back. $10 for a seat adjuster is worth every penny in legroom and in not having to buy a new car or worry about replacing a car seat at a later date. I have installed many a seat in my day, even though this is our first child. This is not a pull it out of the box and pop it in your car kind of seat. The instruction book is bare-bones at best, but YouTube University has lots of car seat inspector videos to help you on your way. I was able to install the seat safely at 38 weeks pregnant, so if I can do it with big belly and pregnancy brain, then so can you!

I was afraid that their head will fall forward since it is very vertical but actually inside is a nice recline and the harness holds them tighter than any of the other more spacey seats. I should have bought this first.
Oh, I fitted them into a Chevy Bolt. All three of them!!!!! no problem!

Great looking and narrow seat. The low sides make it easier to place my daughter in the seat. The seat is also heavier than I expected, but certainly well made. A notable detail is, when the seat is rear facing: there are two points at the base that wedge themselves in-between the seat and backrest. My rear seat has this devide slightly higher than the bottom of the backrest. This means that the points dig into the seat rather than sliding in. This makes a seat protector necessary. Something to consider.

We have used the backpack straps and carried these cross country a few times. They’re heavy but it is very do-able. I wish we would have found this seat sooner. We are on child number 3 now and have already had to dispose of several car seats from kid number 1. The 10 year lifespan is huge in a carseat.

It is definitely a high end car seat. The material is great. The installation was incredibly easy. The size is great, not too wide, can fit 3 across.

As our other car seat start to expire we will be purchasing more Diono seats.

I never want my child to ride in any carseat but this one. Great quality, well worth the price. Its heavy but that is part of the safety. My daughter went from hating her previous infant carseat to loving the extra room of this one. It takes more time to.install but once its in, it is solid. I don't recommend travelling with it via air, due to the extra pounds the baggage personnel were not kind to ours, its awkward to carry and move around.

When our LO was a baby and we were outgrowing the initial Convertable Car Seat (the ones that go between the docking station and the stroller), we researched the heck out of car seats. We wanted something that was the best, safest, and most versatile. Although these are not cheap, darned if they are not solid! (not to mention heavy).

So our first one we had for 3-4 years and then we got rear ended. Replacing the baby seat was a must (No injuries to the kid), so we didn't give it a second thought and went straight back to Amazon and got the Radian again.

Two years later, we got rear-ended again (both times sitting at a light and the person behind us was flipping blind). Again, a no brainer (and kid had no injuries). Of course by now, The Radian has gone to a newer version called the 3RXT but it is basically the same.

One thing that I really like about this newer version is the full cover. I hate that all these car seats pad the front for the kiddo, but could care less about the damage they cause to your car seat. This new Radian has a full cover that goes over the back. Not only does it help protect the actual car seat (we still have one of those seat protectors between), but it also helps keep in\hide all the extra hardware.

Hopefully this one will take us all the way through the booster years, but if bad luck continues to follow us.. another Radian it will be!
