The good- ice cream tastes great
Easy to use
Works great
Adorable kit.
The bad- slow
Ice cream doesn’t get super thick
My son grabbed the bowl out of the freezer and without thinking put his fingers in the bowl to carry it, and his fingers got stuck and peeled a layer of skin of 4 finger. (He’s ok) but was a learning experience.
Advice after using a few times- don’t touch the inside metal when fully frozen.
Allow bowl to deep freeze for at least 12 hours
Make ice cream mix and the refrigerate it for a couple hours to ensure mix is very cold prior to adding to ice cream machine- allows ice cream to get slightly less runny.
All in all great buy and great product.
Item arrived, checked it out, rinsed it off, and placed the bowl in the freezer overnight.
We attempted vanilla with chocolate chips (sugar free chips and monkfruit) following the recipe in the book, just swapping the sweetener out which should have had no effect on the freezing process.
Chilled the mix, followed all instructions, bowl was frozen overnight, etc.
30 mins in the motor burned out and the machine died, on it's first run. The book says it can take over 30 mins. All we got was cold cold soup.
We ordered a replacement which came yesterday. Around noon, the bowl was placed in the freezer and at 10:00PM we attempted vanilla with coconut flakes, again having chilled the mixture beforehand.
20 mins later and there were no ice crystals, nothing was frozen, and the motor was getting warm, so I pulled the motor off and placed the paddle and bowl in the freezer. I'll just have the kid go spin the paddle every half hour until it's un spinnable I guess.
After we clean it tomorrow it will be returned as well.
After two failed attempts with two different machines, I think that we will go with another brand and model of ice cream maker.
I was so excited because I love my Dash mini waffle maker, but the ice cream maker has been a real letdown.
Overall this product is great and so is the brand.
So my first batch was not the best - it didn’t get creamy. I attempted to make some dairy free ice cream which tastes good but after freezing it, it was too hard. I also did not let my sugar dissolve so it messed with the texture.
BUT My second attempt was perfect! My tip is to let the bowl truly freeze overnight or longer. Make your mix and put it in the fridge for an hour or freezer for about 20/30 minutes.
I made a vanilla ice cream - heavy cream(dairy alternative), sugar, almond milk, vanilla extract. Nice and creamy. I also made this same mixture with dairy products. Both were good!
I also made a chocolate ice cream, same ingredients as above plus unsweetened cocoa powder.
There’s a book that has recipes also. I even froze peanut butter “globs” and added them to my chocolate ice cream.

The front of the box was wet and when I got it open there was more wet which was all through the box and the splash guard and ingredient chute along with some that had crystallized. The motor p unit was also covered in these things so I'm hoping it will work once I get time to test all. It was disgusting to clean up. I have now put the cooling bowl in the freezer and am hoping that if that's what has leaked out there will still be enough for this to work. This was not due to shipping clearly as there was not enough time from when it was shipped until when it was delivered for this to have crystallized.
