What a workhorse!
It arrived, I unboxed it, put the chain on, tensioned it, added oil and went to work. Grew up using gas chainsaws for firewood so I had my doubts. Wow am I pleasantly surprised. I took down a 20ft tall fruit tree and it cut through it like butter. Base was about 12" across and no issues. Do check your oil every few minutes to be safe. Mine has not leaked at all. Do tighten the chain after a few minutes because chains warm up and stretch. Just like the included manual says do not stop and start without waiting 5 seconds after all its electric and will add wear to the motor. It's a tough habit to break but required. Love this electric chainsaw and well worth the price. It doesn't come with oil so buy the Sun Joe oil. The extension is very sturdy and no flex. I couldn't believe how quick it is to connect and disconnect it. Very impressed and do your own research but this chainsaw is a workhorse. Can't speak to longevity but it's off to a great start.

I've had no problems with my SunJoe SWJ807E so far. Works good, no complaints. It gets a bit awkward to handle when I have the telescopic pole fully extended but I think any chainsaw on a long pole is going to be that way. I lost the wrench / screwdriver that comes with the chainsaw. I called the number for SunJoe (it's listed in the user manual) and after a few minutes hold I got a live human who told me I could order the wrench from their website for $2.99, which I did. Unfortunately with shipping the total was ~$12. I searched Amazon and the wrench used to be an Amazon item but at the moment it's listed as "No longer available". In general, so far so good. I'd recommend drilling a hole in the wrench, and attach it with a ziptie to the scabbard so it's harder to lose - That's what I'm going to do with my replacement wrench.

We used it for more than it is meant for and it lasted 2 1/2 years when the motor burst into flames. We figured that’s the end of it. We now have an 18” 450 Rancher Husqvarna, so we a purchasing another sun joe that we will use properly and it will probably last a lot longer!

I am very impressed with this electric convertible pole saw and chainsaw for it's price. It cuts very well. Although it's mostly plastic, it seems well built. Clever and simple design to go from pole saw to chainsaw and visa-versa. It is a little top heavy with the chainsaw mounted on top of the pole when extended, but manageable; would be nice to have a shoulder support strap.

I live in a neighborhood with a home owners association that requires the home owner to trim their trees and branches away from streets for delivery vehicles 15-20 ft up and up from the yard ground for yard care riding lawn mower or get fined and penalized. And it's just better looking.

It cost around $100 - $200 or more to have tree trimming done every time and they need trimming every month and a half to 2 months, sometimes more here in Florida except in the short winter months. So, if you're able and willing to use a pole saw and chainsaw, you can save a lot of money. And of course we get storms with high winds and hurricanes where branches need to be trimmed and cut up.

This pole saw has worked very well to trim branches that are higher up and then remove the pole and use its chainsaw to chop up the branches into 4 ft or smaller pieces for local yard pick up. Two devices in one, very nice.

I chose this electric corded pole saw and chainsaw because I didn't want to mess with gas and oil and their noise and most of the cordless electric pole saws and chainsaws currently have short runtimes like 15 minutes to half an hour before they need recharging which is not long enough for my tasks. Obviously, you must be careful with the long electrical cords, but otherwise this is a great tool.

I did have to tighten the chain guard and chain a couple of times, and the chain came off twice due to my usage, but those tasks were quick and easy to do with this.

I found it strange that the lubricating oil fill hole is on the side rather on top because it didn't show how much oil I was pouring in, so I overfilled it wasting some oil. When the saw is upright and in use it's easy to see how much oil is left or needed.

Overall I highly recommend this.

I am a single woman who needed to cut down a tree. Could I do it? I didn’t know. I’ve never used more than fiskars shears to cut anything. I received it and easily set it up. ( I did follow the instructions VERY closely.). Originally i asked my neighbour to help me because I was scared of the thought of using a chainsaw but once he started using it he showed me how and off I was cutting my own tree branch by branch. Love it! It’s light and does what I needed it to do. Great price too! I paid $90 plus tax. A real chainsaw would have cost me hundreds. Best thing I bought this summer!
