Coming apart
Bought this car seat in Feb 2019. It’s three years old, my daughter still fits in it. But it’s coming apart. No car accident or blunt force applied.

This is one of the best car seats we have ever used. It is the fourth one we purchased for two cars and by far out favorite. This is after doing a lot of "web research" to try and find the best seat.

It also works great in our smaller compact car as the sides are low and easy to get baby in and out of.

One of the best features that isn't often listed in most car seats, is the straps stay in place easily at the sides of the seat when you are putting the baby in and getting them out. This is such a big help in the day to day use of the seat.

The only downside is the price. Although in my opinion, it is well worth it.

Hands down the absolute best car seat I’ve ever seen. This thing doesn’t move compared to my old one. My old one would flip around whereas this one barely budges! Super pleased with this seat. It was also ungodly easy to install. Would definitely buy another if I needed to.

This seat is a disaster. First, it's in no way easier to install than other car seats we've used, and far more difficult than most. Tightening the seat belt enough to prevent the seat from sliding around almost always resulted in there being too much tension on the belt to allow the seat to click down over top. After about 10 minutes of tweaking, you could usually get it fairly secure, but never enough that I felt totally comfortable with how much the seat moved around. It got to the point where I dreaded transferring it from one car, which negates its main selling point.

Also, this thing was a nightmare to clean. Our daughter just turned two, which means we've discovered the myriad, unreachable nooks and crannies that are almost impossible to wipe down. For instance, the button to release the tension on the harness is recessed in a plastic slot that is the perfect size for a toddler to jam crackers into, forcing you to surgically remove them with a paperclip or simply undoing the entire seat. You can try washing the padding, but good luck figuring out how to put everything back together. I have never seen something more unnecessarily complicated in my life.

But worse than that by far was the quality: The plastic parts of the seat's body started separating from -- and exposing -- the metal frame within months of purchase, a situation that progressively got worse as time went by. The final straw when I was trying to clean it this evening, when I noticed after clicking the seat back in place that only a modest impact, like from my hand, was enough to cause the bottom of the seat to come unclasped and launch upward like an ejector seat. We've owned this seat less than six months, and it feels both unsafe and broken.

For my own piece of mind and the safety of my kid, I am buying a different car seat. I feel like I completely wasted my money investing in this one. My next seat will not be a Britax.

Refreshingly easy to install. I bought this for my mom, who watches my son several days a week. I noticed that she would frequently take our infant carseat base out of her car (Chicco keyfit), and wanted to make sure that she had a convertible that was just as easy to take in and out. This carseat is a beast in terms of weight, but the clicktight really cannot be beat. I now wish that I had bought one of these for myself (I have a Chicco nextfit- and even with the super cinch LATCH it is not as easy to install).

Very secure with the addition odd the bar. We have another Britax without the bar and it does not seem as safe. The leg room is not great but I don't blame the seat as mutch as it is just part of the compromise for the dual use (forward and backward facing). We've been using it three times a week for six+ months.

This is our 3rd Britax clicktight, one for each car and one for grandma’s car! It is SO easy to install and the ARB makes it even safer than it already is. My daughter is comfortable and loves that she can see out the window. I’ll never buy another car seat!

Easy to install, super comfortable so far!

We have 4 kids and 2 cars. We have 8 Britax seats in our cars at all times. We also have 2 additional boosters for Grandma. This Britax marathon click tight convertible (we also have the arb) is the absolutely worst Britax seat we have ever owned. First, it is a pain to install. The rare occurrence where we have to move it or put it back in, there are many colorful expletives coming from my husband's mouth the entire time he is trying to get it back installed. Second, the seat cover is awful... It comes off and refuses to stay on. We literally have to pull the seat cover back over the top of the seat every single time we put our one year old in. Third, the buckle bent on us. Not sure how the heck that could even happen, but it did, and Britax very rudely said I could buy another one. Fine... However, it's never in stock to purchase.... So what am I supposed to do until it's back in stock? Fourth, my kid hates, hates, HATES, getting in this seat. He cries. He doesn't cry in our other marathon (previous model) in the other car. He can't have a conversation yet, so I couldn't tell you what exactly he hates... Just that he doesn't like it. Bottom line, we are extremely disappointed in this purchase and would definitely NOT recommend this seat.
