Open a Wine Bottle in 3 Easy Steps

Simple Push-Button Operation

Before removing the cork, any foil seal covering the cork must be removed first. A handy foil cutter comes included making the task quick and easy.

To use the electric wine bottle opener, place it on top of a wine bottle, making sure it remains in an upright position and not at an angle to the bottle. A single operating switch ensures foolproof operation from here. Simply press the lower part of the switch to start. The unit's corkscrew spiral will turn to enter the cork, then it will gradually remove the cork from the bottle, stopping once the cork has been fully removed from the bottle. Lift the electric wine bottle opener away from the bottle, and remove the cork by pressing the upper part of the switch--the spiral turns in the opposite direction to release the cork. Voila. Let the pouring begin.

Opens up to 30 Bottles on a Full Charge

Measuring 2-1/4 inches in diameter by 10-3/4 inches tall, the electric wine bottle opener provides an ergonomically designed, soft-grip handle that fits in the palm of your hand for a firm grip. Other highlights include an LED charging light on the top of the unit and a power indicator light on the base, which offers a small footprint that takes up minimal space on a kitchen counter, bar, table, or buffet. When not in use, return the electric wine bottle opener to its charging base. A full recharge takes about six to eight hours. Fully charged, it can open approximately 30 bottles of wine.

There are so many electric wine bottle openers out there and trying to decide which electric bottle opener to purchase can be a challenge. Fortunately this is one of the best electric wine bottle openers out there and you will not be disappointed if you decide to make a purchase. It is no wonder that this is a number one best seller in the electric wine bottle opener category. Number ones are infamous for failing to live up to their hype. Luckily this electric opener merits to be number one and my best guess is that this electric opener will be in this position for a long time. The electric opener goes for $17.99. Shop around and you will not find a better value than this one. There are pricey electric openers that fail in what they do and as such there is no need of investing in such yet this is a viable solution. There is nothing much to say about this opener other than it is a cordless electric bottle opener that removes the cork in a matter of seconds. The haste in which it opens the bottles is simply amazing. You can open up to 2 wine bottles in a minute. It can open a number of bottles in a single charge and if that is not convenience then I don’t know what is. I am sure this is the kind of electric opener you will probably find in a busy bar or hotel. Efficiency and quality are the two words that best describe this electric opener. There is a foil cutter that removes seals first before removing the cork. The handle has a gentle grip which ensures that you will not have to keep positioning the electric opener. The design of the opener is also outstanding. It is very easy to use the electric opener. Just place it on top of the wine bottle in an upright position. Press the switch on the opener and the opener will start removing the cork. It will stop once the cork has been removed from the bottle. Then lift the opener away from the bottle, remove the stuck cork by pressing the upper part of the switch and the cork will be released and the party can begin. There is even no elbow grease required to operate the opener. Read the manual if you are confused about the operations but the bottom line is that the opener is very easy to operate and you shouldn’t be perturbed because you can’t use it. It is a time saver and a WOW factor for your guests.

I've had two of these and first one lasted a few years. This one will no longer open bottles. It doesn't seem to have the strength. It's not that the battery is dead. It is fully charged but stops about halfway through and nothing I can do will finish the job other than withdrawing it (reversing it) and getting my manual opener. I see it has a warranty but it's probably not worth the effort.

Update: Well, I went to Oster.com and was able to enter my model number and what happened and asked for a refund. I had an email in a little bit asking for more info, and voilà, a replacement arrived. It is working well. Still seems it could be more powerful, so 4 stars. Kudos to them.

This thing could turn into a great product. But the complaints of some customers demonstrate the weaknesses of design and instructions. First, the buttons: The "down" button should actually have 2 arrows or, better, an oval with two arrows, indicating that the corkscrew goes down and then cycles back up on its own, pulling the cork out. The "up" arrow should point down, indicating that it will push the cork out of the bottom.

Secondly, two warnings would be considerate: (1) At some point the thing will fight you momentarily. It appears that this is when the corkscrew begins its return trip upward and actually begins pulling a cork. (The caveat is that this is difficult-to-impossible to actually see, but I think that is what is happening.) And (2) this is not intended for old, dry corks. You want to have an alternative in those cases--probably one of those devices that pumps air into the bottle and pushes the cork up with the air pressure.

I've had this for close to 3 weeks and it has opened a number of bottles--altho another caveat is that I have not had occasion to try it with a rubber cork. Assuming the battery lasts a reasonable amount of time, I will be quite happy with this purchase. But for the reasons herein, I can't give it 5 stars. And I definitely can't consider it giftable if I would have to add a coaching session.

I ordered a way cheaper wine opener that works just as well, was stainless steel and had a USB charger. The Oster is very large, plastic and was sold with an American plug for which I will now have to buy a plug converter.

unable to test this unit as I just received it. These requests should wait a while before sending.
I have two other identical units ( over three years ) that are GREAT. Have used them as gifts and have not heard any complaints. Highly recommend.

I would have liked to see a plastic bottom so you can see the center of the cork,
