I REALLY DISLIKE DOING REVIEWS. However, once in a while one is worthy and needful, and that's the case here. I am an engineer and like another reviewer said, I equate weight with quality. The body of this blender is quite heavy and feels 'solid' in more than one sense of the word. The controls are simple, intuitive, and work as expected. One button puts it running continuously (they warn not to do so over 1 minute) until you press the same button again to stop the blender, a second button puts it in pulse mode - on for 2 or 3 seconds and then off for a short while repeated 10 times, which is my favorite, and the third button runs it for as long as you hold the button down. I find that the pulse (x10) works best for most of my use. I sometimes put whole flax seeds into the mix and it chops them up great, although when I do put flax seeds in the mix, I usually run the blender a little longer at the end of the pulse cycle just to do a thorough break up of the seeds. I registered it on line and I was able to get the warranty increased to 2 years, which is great as long as the company continues to exist.
As an engineer, one aspect of the design really stood out to me, and that is the advantage of having the mixing container turned upside down for mixing. Because the shape of the container becomes an inverted "V" shape when it is upside down, the mixture drops to the bottom of the container between mixing cycles (unless your mixture has a lot of frozen foods in it - in which case it is really thick and I find that I have to help it drop down by shacking things while the mixing is paused). Having said all of that, I am surprised to find that the inverted V shape does a lot to help in the mixing process.
I purchased this on the 28th of August so I have been using it for 2 months. I usually make 2 smoothies a day. To this point the blender is working great. A little noisy, but I think that is to be expected. When I put a lot of frozen fruit in the mix, the blender shakes a bit as it breaks things up, but because of the flexible rubber feet, it stays put on the counter without sliding around.
All in all I would recommend (and have done so) this blender to anyone who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a blender, or, as in the case of the two people who expressed an interest in having one and both of them already having a vitamix class of blender costing way more. They liked it because it readily makes a personal sized blend (or two if needed) and it did a good job, they could busy themselves with cleanup and putting things away while the blender was doing its thing, and they liked the fact that it is small enough to fit in the cupboard which is where I keep mine (my wife is very picky about what clutters up her kitchen counter!)
It comes with 2 mixing containers, one smaller holding container, a mixing top and a storage drinking top. (I find that I'm not crazy about the way the storage/ drinking top fits my mouth, so I don't use it much. Having said that, that's about the only thing I don't like about this blender. If it outlasts the warranty and subsequently fails, I will definitely be wanting to buy another one.

Best blender for price!
Love this blender! We use this vs our ninja blender. It's easier to use and clean for our morning shakes. This is our second one. Purchased our first one about five years ago. Unfortunately the blades will dull over the years (that is for any blender) Still worked fine but wanted a new one. And for the price you cant beat it. I have seen other reviews of people not seating the cup with blade top correctly into the base. That is in fact the user's error for not seating it correctly. Once you place the cup into the base you have to turn it clockwise for it to lock into place.(read the directions) it will beep. Then press start. Blend, then press stop. Remove cup. I did do this incorrectly a few times, that will tear up the plastic teeth that spin the blade. Again, user error. Will buy again in five years if it's still on the market. Side note, we used our previous blender three times a day every day for those five years.
