this review is for the 27 roll standard (not-compressed) product. It's economical. It's thin but it doesn't fall apart. It's not scratchy but it isn't soft like wiping with a cloud of fluff either. This stuff does it's job and does it well and with no residue fluff left behind on the behind.
But when the hubby initially bought this I excoriated him for the choice. I had previously used a dense soft toilet tissue (Cottonelle), and I was happy with that product. After the soft luxury of that, Scott 1000 seemed spartan and frankly....cheap. I was pretty annoyed, but the spousal unit insisted we use it up before replacing it, so my daughter and I tried our best to do just that!
We used it in lieu of tissues for blowing our noses. We used it in lieu of cotton balls to remove nail polish. We used liberal amounts on every flush -- and I noticed -- no matter how much we used we never seemed to clog the toilet. We seriously tried our best to use the stuff up so we could go back to our life of luxury and softness, but it wouldn't die. Scott 1000 lasts and lasts and lasts. We went MONTHS with this stuff and by the time it was running out I don't know if it was Stockholm Syndrome or not, but we had to agree, this is the best TP we've ever purchased.
That was seven years ago and we're still loyal Scott 1000 customers today. Our guests have joking mentioned our bathroom tissue being "prison grade" so I do keep some softer tissue now available in the guest bath for them, but to be honest, even our kid prefers the Scott 1000. It won us all over and we won't go back to that life of pampered luxury.

Good for Housholds that have Kids who use tons of toilet paper just becasue they can.
I use Scott all the time but this batch seemed a bit more 'thin' than usual. BUT... if you got kids that totally wrap their hands up with toilet paper until it looks like they have a giant Q-tip on the end of their arm just to wipe their butts one single time. Then this is still a good buy for you. Look at the attached picture, this is kinda crap I have to deal with.
