Edit: After two years of continuous use (twice a day by two persons each), this water flosser failed. It just wasn't able to provide adequate pressure anymore. Disassembled it to inspect. Metal and plastic cogs looked good. Most likely the battery couldn't hold adequate charge. Also found some internal areas (such as the top of the motor where tips attached) that are hard areas to clean had slight mold growth.
This product gets rid of alot of trapped food but it is not a replacement for flossing. This has considerable power for a portable unit and could be used in a water gun fight. I still have to use regular floss to remove small amounts of trapped food between my bottom molars and front teeth (mainly cause I don’t want to splatter my mirror as I clean my front teeth). Ever since using this, the gum areas near a molar with an inlay and another tooth (impacted wisdom tooth) which typically trap food has nearly no inflamation or bleeding. I find the water tank capacity is adequate for me. I usually have a little water left over.
Make sure to dry the water flosser exterior after filling it up with water so you can get a good grip on it. It’s design grip-wise wasn’t very good as the smooth plastic combined with moisture leads to many accidental sprays from the flosser (especially when you frantically tighten your grip around the spray button as you feel the flosser slip in your hands). The plastic needs a rough texture (like the few small plastic bumps on the back of the Sonicare toothbrush) or rubber material to make it easier to grip when wet.
I wish they built an inductive charging capability on this so the electronics can be totally isolated from water. The charging port simply has a rubber cover you remove and plug in a charging adapter. The charging adapter itself seems to be constructed of low grade material. For instance, the charging cable seems to be low gauge wire with hard (and more brittle) plastic insulation. The carging connector on the water flosser is a unique (proprietary?) one so don’t lose it.
