I got the rug with the yellow background. It fits well in the playroom and the kids enjoy using it for hopscotch or sitting on for playing. I noticed that the squares are sized and placed fine for young kids (maybe up to age 10), and they're the ones most likely to use it. However, once you get into the tweens and older, the kids have to jump more vertically than is comfortable or they overshoot the next squares. The rug is 2'7" X 6'0", though actually a little narrower than 2'7" (more like 2' 6.75"). The rug has a non-slip backing which helps keep in place. The pile on the rug was short, but it is soft to the touch. The tag on the rug has a "Confidence in Textiles" label that says "Tested for harmful substances." It also says, "Anti-bacterial," "Easy to clean," "water repellent," and "colorfast."

This rug is very soft to the touch which makes it great for bare feet. The rubber backing works great against hardwood floors preventing slipping. The only small negative is that the rug is a little thin so I wouldn't place this in an area with regular foot traffic. However, since this is a hopscotch pattern we intended to mostly use it for playtime so this really isn't an issue. The thickness is typical for this price point as well so it's really not an issue.

There are no young kids in my house at the moment (other than me) but I just love the cheerfulness of this rug--what a fun and goofy thing to put in the den! Every person that has walked into my den and seen it wants one immediately and they are all well past the age of childhood (some of us are way, way past). Nothing like old geezers in your den hopping around like they were six again, lol. I guess there is just something about this hopscotch design that just touches a universal memory in everyone.

The colors of the rug are even brighter in person than in the photos and the rug is very soft and nicely crafted. I would imagine that this would be particularly fun to have in a kid's room or basement playroom or a back porch. Like all of the Ottomanson rugs (I have several) it's very well made and the edges are tightly machine sewn.

My daughter and I both love this rug. It is super cute and a good size. It fits in her playroom nicely. It's also much softer than I though it would be. My daughter is only 2 years old so she does not fully know the game of hopscotch but she loves to jump in the squares. She also just enjoys sitting on it and playing with her other toys. The colors are nice and bright and grab her attention every time she walks into that room. It seems to be well made. I have not yet had any issues with it coming apart and I have vacuumed over it several times now. There is a non-skid backing which is nice, because we have laminate flooring in most of the house.

This rug is so bright and cheerful--I couldn't wait to put it into my grandson's room.

The first thing you notice upon unwrapping it is how SOFT it is. The fibers feel so soft and smooth under your fingers...it was a surprise.
The second thing you notice is that the softness of the fibers left bunches of soft lint piles throughout the run. They are easy to pick up, but this leaves me wondering how sturdy it will be over time.
The workmanship is nice--the edges are very sturdily sewn. The rug itself had no visible flaws (and I went over it with a fine toothed comb).

I think this is a great addition to a kids' room or child care center.
