Not easy to use, returning
I thought this would be better than the other kind which hangs over the top of a door frame. In practice it didn't really work out, and I decided to return and buy the other kind.Installing was hard. I know right, how hard can it be? Well, it turns out you actually have to get it pretty level, which is harder than it looks. Also, keep in mind that it is secured by applying force outwards, so essentially it is like a jack pushing your walls apart. The walls where I tried it started making cracking sounds long before it "stopped turning" like the manual said, so I decided not to push it. Admittedly this house is not the best built, and I doubt the walls would have structurally weakened from this. But it seemed like it was likely to crack or chip some paint near the corners. It also did leave imprints where I mounted, see photos.Another problem I realized was that the grip is necessarily narrow. I do pull ups with my hands more than shoulder width apart. The grip in this one was very narrow and very uncomfortable. I wish I had tested the grip with a stick before buying this, it would have been immediately obvious this is too narrow for me. I attached a photo with length reference. I suggest trying with a similar grip first, much easier than having to order and return.Lastly the manual was confusing. In particular there is a table of max load. Depending on how much you weigh, there seems to be not much margin for error. Presumably the load depends on how much you extend the bar, but both axes in the table go to 175 cm when this one extends to only 92 cm. I assume each column is a different product, even though they only sell this option on amazon, and column 1 is what we should look at?

When I first bought it my weight was 96 KG (211 lbs), this bad boy was able to handle my weight as if it was nothing. Key thing is that I put it in 2 walls, as it places pressure on the sides, do not put it in a wooden frame, it could break.
All in all, this bar has never let me down and have been accident free since I bought it.
Word of advice tho, if you are as heavy or heavier than me, know that 1 year later after I removed it, I had to repaint the 2 spots where the bar was hanging from. Thanks to the pressure, the paint was removed.

Forgive the lengthy review, but I wanna provide you with details of my experience so you can determine whether my assessment applies to your needs/interests with this product.

I have been wanting to be able to do pull ups at home so I started looking into pull up bar setups. Long story short, after much analyzing of my apartment, it turned out most setups out there either physically wouldn't work or would require too much rigging/rearranging or were too expensive (hundreds of $$). While scrolling through pull up bars on Amazon, I saw this one. I liked the fact that it wasn't permanent since the only place I could put it was in my entry door frame which, unfortunately, the door would not be able to close with the pull up bar in it. I liked the fact that it could be adjusted to fit my 35" wide frame. I liked the fact that due to its design, as you put weight on it, it technically should become more stable. Finally, I liked the price and that delivery time was maybe a week out. My only concern was I wasn't sure how well built my wooden door frame was and although the support feet on this pull up bar appeared to have good surface area on them, I didn't know if once I put my weight on it, if the force would just crack or even break the frame. I debated and decided to take the chance in buying it.

I found the setup to be fairly easy, but I am a mechanic by trade so that may have given me an advantage. Its functions and features made sense to me, it just took about 5 minutes to figure out how they all worked together. I did read the instructions just to make sure there were no less-than-obvious do's or don'ts. I found the wording of the instructions kinda confusing, but the illustrations were helpful. From opening the box it arrived in, to being set up in my door frame and ready to test, was about 10 minutes tops at a casual pace. I did hear some creaking from my door frame during the final tightening of the bar, but no further sounds during use.

Its been a week now. I'm 5'10" and weigh around 120 lbs and do 5 pull ups on it 2-3 times a day every day. I keep it leaned against the wall near the door when not in use and I think it literally takes me less than a minute to grab it, install it and have it ready to use. The door frame makes that creaking sound every time I do that final tightening of the bar, but still, no further sounds during use. It also has yet to move on me at all. I've checked the door frame several times after removing the bar and while the feet definitely leave a print on the wood, I don't see or feel any warping or cracking of the wood. Its safe to say that at this point I am very happy with this pull up bar. Just a few months ago I could do 10 pull ups at a time without breaking a sweat. Having been unable to do many of my outdoor sports and activities over the past couple months, I was heart broken to discover those 5 pull ups mentioned above is the best I can do right now. I hope this product continues to support me (quite literally) as I work my way back up to 10 again!

Took a bit long to arrive but probably mostly due to Covid related delays. Pulled it out of the box and the item was in good condition and feels heavy, and well built. It was relatively easy to install. a few required adjustments and screws to adjust and its ready to use.

A few quality concerns in the small aluminum clamp-down hardware at either side of the bar. These dont take weight but just retain the bar at width. They feel flimsy in quality, they are thin aluminum and could be better for the price of this bar. they could also do a better job easing the edges of these two aluminum clamps, they are a little on the sharp side.

Overall good quality otherwise. The metal bar itself is heavy and feels sturdy. There is no flex when hanging from the bar. The plastic 'mounting' mechanisms appear to be well made and of good quality plastic. just used it once so far but right away there is no slip if properly installed.

The bar does put a lot of force onto the door jam. Since my apartment's door jam was not well installed the wood was pressed outward a bit. If you're like me you may drive a few screws through your door jam to make sure it is truly fastened to the stud in your wall. I will wait to see how it holds up before I put extra screws into my wall but it may be necessary to ensure the bar is secure and there's no further flex in the door jam. This is not a quality problem of the pull-up bar, it is a quality problem of my apartment. hah!

First let me just say the product is extremely well made. it has a nice weight to it and the assembly, although took some getting used to at first, was very simple and easy to move it high or low depending on the exercise u want to do... I personally use it for pull ups, inverted rows, incline and decline push ups. If u are worried if it will be able to hold your weight don’t be. You should be more worried about the walls you will be mounting this on because the way this is designed makes it so the more u pull down on it the more it pushes into the wall. So if you have soft walls this will damage it. I’m 190lb and I’m not budging this thing at all. what I would like from the next iteration of this product is a easy way to level the bar. right now u just have to eyeball it

Now lets talk about the customer service. In the package I was given a customer service card where u could scratch it to reveal a free gift. my gift was a set of resistance bands which was perfect for me but they apparently ran out so they gave me the option of getting a $10 refund or sending me a ANOTHER PULL UP BAR to share with a friend lol. so naturally i picked the bar because i have a friend whos also getting into fitness. This has honestly been the best experience I've had shopping on amazon in all my years

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
Reviewed in Canada on December 25, 2021
We needed a pull up bar for our daughters Scroth physio. We wanted one that would allow us to adjust the height, be unobtrusive, allow the door to still close, and be safe/solidly-mounted. This product delivers on all fronts.

Easy to install, can place at any height, with in in-place you can still close the door, and it mounts solidly. The design of the mounting 'pads' on the ends is such that when you put weight on the bar, it 'grabs' the door frame more. Our 9 yr old daughter can use it no problem, and I even put my 230 lb body weight under it and it held solid.Z

I did here some tension groans from the door frame while I was installing/tightening the bar, so maybe be a little cautious if you aren't sure how solid your door frame it.

I needed this Chin up bar quite urgently and contacted the seller after the item had passed the expected delivery date. The seller was quick to respond to investigate that the parcel had gone missing and acted immediately to send another one which arrived very quickly. The seller also kept tabs and sent messages to me to find out if I had received the parcel. Thank you for following up on my case closely, I appreciate the good service. The item was well received and my son has enjoyed using this Chin Up bar. I must share that this is the 2nd brand that I had tried and am glad this one works since the first brand could not be fixed on the door frame and kept slipping down. Feierdun Bar is working very well so far for my teenage son and we are happy with the purchase.

Works as expected, on a strong wooden door frame on concrete wall. However, I wouldnt try swinging on the bar like a monkey, since it is not riveted into the frame. User should use common sense and this thing will work.
