My son cannot handle milk - period. Plus most vitamins contain things he is allergic to like carrots and alternative milks also contain allergens or are not very healthy. This really is our only option. We have tried so many times to get him onto other things and nothing else was tolerated.

However, I wish they produced a Gentlease product for kids that are no longer toddlers. Dairy intolerance runs in our family. - 4 generations cannot drink milk. So its hard to get the nutrition needed to build strong teeth and bones without dairy. I want the product to match their age and dietary needs, but with this being our only option I guess our kids will have to stay on it even if they are older than its intended for.

I switched to this about a month ago for my daughter.

She fussed a bit for about 10 days or so, as babies are wont to do when changing diets, but eventually took to this just fine...fine, as in if I don't get the bottle ready fast enough, a catastrophe of ear-drum-piercing proportions ensues.

The directions call for two scoops for 4oz, however I use 1 1/2, since she has a delicate tummy, and this isn't her main source of nutrition.

Sadly, I can't find the little packets they have for the other formulas, so I can mix up a bottle on the road. Bringing the whole can with me is not practical, and bottles are bulky and only last so long before the contents go bad. The little packets were great, as I could simply rinse out a bottle, mix the formula, and have my daughter practically rip my arm off when I hand it to her, no mess, no trouble.

Zip lock bags will work, but aren't quite as handy.

Anywho, if it's time to change your child's formula to something more grown-up-y, give this a try.

I am a little amused by the reviews citing the bad taste. If your toddler is used to milk, there are other options out there for milk based toddler formula that you should probably try first.
The Gentlease line is for sensitive babies and contains partially broken down proteins to aid with digestion of milk. It does taste different, but for babies that had milk allergies and are used to the disgusting taste of Nutramigen/ Alimentum and similar hypo-allergic baby formula this is really a big step up. My baby was on very expensive formula because of her allergy and even though she is better now at 20 months will still react to normal formula. She cannot drink cows milk, and we've tried goats milk, soy milk, rice milk, almond milk .... she refused them all. I was in despair till I came across the Gentlease toddler - She loves it, does not react to it, and gets more nutrition than she would with any of the other options. It is also so much cheaper than what we've been spending to date.

This may not be for every toddler, but was the perfect option for us.

When my child turned one year old and no longer needed sensitive formula but wasn't quite ready for only milk, I turned to this product. It provides full nutrition for babies going into their toddler years and is especially good for those with lactose sensitivities. My child did not take to solid foods until he was around 18 months, which is when we were able to switch to milk only. I am glad this product was around to help him meet him nutritional needs and keep his weight up while also allowing room for solid food exploration. Of course, ask your pediatrician for their opinion. I am glad I chose this product for our transitional period from formula to regular milk. It dissolves easily and can be used in bottles or sippy cups.

Gentlease gets two thumbs up in our house! The cans are large in size (24oz) and the price is great. We recently transitioned our daughter to Gentlease at the age of 2 1/2 after being on Elecare for the last two years. She is diagnosed with FPIES and still reacts to multiple foods but dairy is safe. The only problem was that she refused to drink more than an ounce or two of diary milk and all other milk sources were not an option for her. That's were Gentlease came into the picture, with the dairy proteins partially broken down, it is way easier on her tummy. She transitioned easily from Elecare and now takes about 25 ounces of Gentlease daily and goes through a can about every 4 to 5 days. Her doctors are happy, our pocketbook is happy, and most of all, our little girl is getting all the nutrition she needs while continuing to develop.

As far as pricing, I have compared like every store and at the time I bought this, Amazon had 20$ off of you spend 100$, so that was a great deal and I stocked up.

My daughter originally started on regular neuropro, because that's what the hospital had. A few weeks in it seemed she started getting gassy, so we switched to Gentlease. It did the trick, she only occasionally suffers from gas. Not like after every feeding before we switched.

I'm very happy with this formula. My son had slow weight gain and had not been on the growth chart since he was 4 months old. I breastfed him, but at 1 year the pediatrician said to supplement with formula. We tried various types of formula, but they all immediately soured in my son's stomach and were spit up within minutes. I'm so thankful that we discovered this formula because not only does he love it, he also keeps it down and has gained 3 pounds in 2 months. It's gentle enough for his stomach but contains the extra calcium and nutrients that a toddler needs in a formula. I'm taking away one star because it smells a bit unpleasant. The baby loves it, however.
