Handi-Grate and Handi-Zest
Handi-Grate 2-in-1 Mini Grater & Slicer:
This beautifully compact mandoline has razor sharp stainless-steel blades, set either side of its design, for grating and slicing small foods such as garlic, ginger and mini vegetables. The design features an ergonomic handle, a non-slip tip and a sliding finger-guard on one side for added safety when slicing. It also comes with its own protective sheath for safe storage. Dishwasher Safe.
Handi-Zest Mini Zester with Integrated Blade Wiper:
One of the problems with conventional zesters is that it can be tricky removing all that precious zest from their blades after grating. Handi-Zest, however, comes with its own mini blade wiper that neatly collects any remaining zest from the back of the blade. Using the wiper, simply slide the zest along the length of the blade to the hole at the end where it can be easily removed. The design comes with its own protective sheath for safe storage. Dishwasher Safe.

That said, opinions are mixed.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Having bled all over my garlic one too many times from using the normal microplaner, and not impressed with garlic presses, I began searching for something that would cut up garlic and ginger quickly and easily and bloodlessly.
I originally bought a poor piece of useless plastic called "multifunctional microplaner..." but that was just a lie. It was a non-sharp grater that didn't work at all.
Then I came across this microplaner! I was so excited to find the microplaner rather than the grater, that I bought it without reading the reviews. See? Just drop the garlic clove in the hopper and all your fingers are safe! Yay!
NOPE. Not even.
But the pictures looked so perfect for what I wanted that I stupidly didn't read the comments and reviews!!! What's this world coming to?
This small device may slice radishes perfectly, as shown in the pictures, but I don't like or eat radishes. What I do like is tiny little pieces of garlic and ginger. This item does not make tiny little pieces of garlic and ginger any better than my normal microplaner.
It is potentially awesome, but ends up totally wrong. As you've read by now, there is no finger guard for the microplaner side. This device is no safer for making garlic or ginger than the normal microplaner.
I love the size and shape and it has such great potential. It could be fixed by a number of seemingly simple manufacturing tweaks - two I instantly thought of are 1) make the blade itself removable/reversible so you could turn it flip it and still use the guard, or put a guard groove on the other side so that you can move the guard back and forth to either side as needed.
So, I'm still looking for the perfect garlic/ginger tiny piece maker.
Sorry for the long useless venting review, but it seems like it is getting easier and easier for Amazon to fool me, or of course, maybe I am just getting stupider and stupider. :O

The Good: The slicer is on the side where the slider fits into the grooves and locks in the place. There's not chance you'll slip and come out of the groove track well...because it's in the track. Perfect!! Now, I want to grate using that awesome grater on the bottom!
Here's the problem. The grater grate is ON THE OTHER SIDE. WTF?!! All graters need to be on the SAME SIDE!!!! You turn it over and think it's reversible, and yet there is no track on the other side and when you try to use the slider mechanism on the other side with the plastic cover for protection, you can't hold the pieces in place! So, the only way you can grate any small item, i.e., garlic, you have to use your fingers. When you do that you take a great risk in grating your fingers!
So, did Joseph fall asleep when designing this and not put the slicer blade on the same side as the grater blade side while having the slider mechanism track on that same side? Or, did the assemblers screw up and accidentally put the slicer blade on the opposite side of the actual grater side?
I really want to know. Take a look at the photo and see for yourself.
Stay tuned, frisky cookers...
