These scissors fall into that all too common category of “I wish I had thought of this.”
Kitchen scissors are used to cut all sorts of things that can leave sticky food residue behind. Residue that can contain or breed bacteria. Add to that the possibility of going from cutting up some chicken for baking to opening the bag of lettuce for the salad and now salmonella salad dressing could come into play. No matter how much you rinse a standard set of scissors there is always that unreachable area at the pivot of the blades. Not with these. The come apart quickly and easily for a full cleaning of all surfaces then back together just as fast. I would never buy a kitchen scissors again that did not have the incredibly useful feature.
Separating the blades also makes these much easier to sharpen when needed. So that’s a plus for those who would rather sharpen than replace when the bladed do eventually wear down as all blades will. It also makes them fit into the flatware basket in the dishwasher very nicely for a thorough cleaning when needed. Which brings me to their finish.
After several months of nearly daily use around the kitchen they have not shown one sigh of pitting, chipping or rusting. I have used these for every imaginable kitchen uses and even a few things that one should probably not use them for like cutting the twist ties that were holding a dog toy firmly in its packaging. Those plastic covered metal ties have in the past damaged my scissors but not in this case. They are made very well and despite numerous washings and frequently being put back in the drawer wet there is no rust or corrosion to be see.
Last the divot or bend in the blade is a great feature allowing a strong grip on harder materials like cutting through the joints on a chicken leg. The harder material often shoots the food out of the standard straight blade but this little curve really holds the object in place and cuts straight through with very little effort. The bonus is that you can maintain a much lighter grip on the food and you don’t have to get your fingers in so close to firmly hold the item in place which can increase the risk of accidently cutting yourself. I really like this a lot.
I have not used the features like the jar opener or bottle opener but they are there if needed and look like they would work. It would have to be a small jar lid given the smaller size to these scissors. I would say not much larger than a small jelly jar size. Maybe 3 inches diameter absolute max.
The one con, if it is one, would be that the blades can disconnect if you were to open the scissors to their max while attempting to cut something very big. I have never encountered a circumstance that could have caused this but I do see that it could happen.
All in all these are a must have in any kitchen and for the price maybe one in the utility room and another in the garage too boot. Five solid stars for these.

Great value in quality, easy-care kitchen shears
I love kitchen shears and ask a lot of them--from boning a chicken to opening a package. Upfront let's just say that these are not going to compare to the German-made $100+ shears. But for the cost, these are amazing. Here's why:1) They are excellent quality both in materials and manufacture. Not the best in the world, but very, very good.2) Value and economy. These are low-cost, and if they didn't work well, they wouldn't be worth a penny. But they perform far better than what their price would indicate. So yes, they're a bargain.3) I'm particularly fond of the shears that come apart so they can be easily cleaned. These separate easily when you want them to, but stay securely together when you need them to. The instructions say to hand wash only, but I put them in the dishwasher, and they've done fine.4) Some reviewers have commented that these aren't sharp. That has not been my experience. Again, compared to shears that are 15X the cost of these, they will fall short. I have boned chickens with no problem, and the serrated edge one one side and curved indent in the lower part of the shear facilitate that kind of job. See below for what it's not so good at.5) As a bonus, you can use one side as a bottle opener. A little frivolous, but why not? Sie ist (auch, aber nicht nur) für den Einsatz beim Schneiden von Lebensmitteln entwickelt und verfügt über zusätzliche Funktionen wie Flaschenöffner und Nussknacker. Die Schere besteht aus Edelstahl und hat eine ordentliche Griffoberfläche, die eine einfache Handhabung ermöglicht.
✅ POSITIVES
- Gute Ergonomie - die Schere liegt wirklich gut in der Hand
- Insgesamt sehr hochwertig, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Schere nur ein paar Euro kostet
- Zusätzlichen Funktionen wie der Flaschenöffner und der Nussknacker
- Sehr scharf und präzise, gut geeignet zum Schneiden verschiedener Dinge
- Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis
❌ NEGATIVES
- Mich stört lediglich die Funktion des "Auseinanderbauens". Mir ist nicht klar, was das für Vorteile haben soll, bzw. wann ich die auseinandergebaute Schere brauchen könnte. Mir ist es aber schon ein paar mal passiert, dass ich die Schere zu weit geöffnet habe und sie dadurch auseinander gefallen ist. Wenn man das weis, achtet man darauf und es ist kein Problem.
FAZIT
Die Amazon Basics Multifunktions-Küchenschere ist ein praktisches Werkzeug für die Küche, das verschiedene Funktionen in einem kompakten Design vereint. Mit ihrer scharfen Klinge, dem komfortablen Griff und den zusätzlichen Funktionen erfüllt sie die meisten Anforderungen beim Schneiden. Für den superniedrigen Preis ist die Schere ein klare Kaufempfehlung.
