Overall, I’m fairly happy with this. I love that it has a built in light - in my opinion that should be a common feature. It is more expensive and far larger than similar banks, which is a significant downside given I don’t think the solar panel is of much value.Data: I’ve run multiple tests with different loads including a Drok USB load & some simple fans and lights. I seem to get about 66Wh out of it after it has been fully charged. For the panel, I sat it outside in the sun for a day after completely running it empty. This was a cold New York day (good) but in December when the sun doesn’t shine so long (bad) but it was a surprisingly sunny bright day (good). This is extremely unscientific, but is real world testing. After having it in the sun, I put a simple load (USB LED light that pulls a bit over .1A) and it ran it for 3h30m, extracting 2.43Wh. So, a day in probably average or below-average sun yielded a 3.68% gain in battery capacity. You’d need it outside for 27 days to fully charge it.If you actually want to charge in the sun, you’ll want some kind of foldable panel with at least 6W. This would be usable in an emergency if you just wanted a little flashlight capability.I’ll update if I get any different results as time goes on.

5.0 out of 5 stars AnkerHead for life!
Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2020
The PowerCore solar 20000 is a beast! It's huge and high in capacity. The first thing I noticed upon unboxing was the build quality. It is well built and solid in construction, it feels great when holding it in my hands.

The unit came partially charged with 2 of the 4 blue battery indicator lights illuminated when I powered it up. It took approximately 6 hours to fully charge via my wall charger. After fully charging, it charged my old Samsung Note 8 via the USB type C port (Not solar) from 64% to 100% full charge in 37 minutes, the unit charges pretty fast through the onboard USB type C port. I have not tried charging through its available USB A port or solar yet. The LED flashlight a cool feature in itself. The lights are nice and bright but not blinding.

The only drawback for me is the dust cover that protects charging ports from dust and debris is a little tough to open. If you are like me and you like keep your finger nails cut short, it is a little bit of a struggle to open the dust cover on this device.

For those that have an older device like my Samsung Note 8 with USB type C charging port, I'm pretty sure this power bank will work for you. My phone was not on the compatibility list in the product description but, this unit charges my Note 8 just fine. Overall, I am super pleased with purchasing the PowerCore Solar 20000 and I look forward to using for backup emergency use or for hiking, camping fishing trips with the family. Another fantastic product made Anker.
