This is an absolutely wonderful journal, of the highest craftsmanship. I searched for hours and hours to find it, and it fits my needs perfectly. It is the same dimensions as my "A Year To Clear" book (5" x 7" and at 1.5" thick it has MORE THAN one page a day for one year)! It has a lovely long strap that allows me to wrap around both the book and the journal which will be my daily devotion this year. The paper is a wonderful creamy color and texture (like a refined handmade paper, slightly rough with fibers visible here and there) and the binding is very carefully made: constructed of 8 banks of 12 doubled and hand-laced-together sheets (yielding 24 sheets with two sides each) for a total of 384 pages (=48 pages x 8) to write on, more than enough for a page-a-day for a year (1 year is 365 days)! The edges are all perfectly even, are squared to the binding and tightly and perfectly glued to create a very refined look. Plus there is a stiff cover page for the front and back just inside the binding, a very nice touch. The leather is a lovely rich brown, very supple, giving a sumptuous feel to the hand. What a joy. It is because of this journal I decided I could start journalling for the first time. About the ONLY way I can think of improving it would be to add a pen loop inside the bend of the over-flap (where there is room between it and the edge of the pages - see picture).
There is a smaller (4"x5") version available for $5 less.

I ordered this so that I could start keeping a journal for my newborn daughter. I'm very satisfied with the quality and design. When I pulled it out of the wrapping, the smell was amazing! The paper is nice and toothy and heavy, no bleed through with a fountain pen, and there is a ton of it! This has substantially more pages than any of the other journals I was looking at.

Couple of notes:
I thought this would be soft covered, not a deal breaker, just different from what I thought. It does have a little flex, that may wear in as I use it more.

It also is a touch smaller than it looked in other reviewer's photos, but it is exactly what the dimensions say: 5x7 inches. Again, not a deal breaker at all.

My biggest disappointment was that my journal had the first section's page binding tear, so I lost about 6 sheets. The rest of the binding is fine though, so I didn't see any point in returning it.

Like I said this is to be a journal for my daughter and will hopefully be a treasured item one day. This was exactly everything I was hoping it would be! I will be ordering this again once I fill these pages.

I think the notebook is nice but it wasn't quite what i was expecting. This was suppose to be gift for friend who is a writer so I was looking for a almost vintage antique notebook. I had even paid extra for shipping which may have affected my view.

Overall it is a good size, weight, and tickness. It seems like an easy portable iten for drawing or notes. I like the distress parchmet paper and the inside cover leathering.

Im cant speak for the quality of the paper though.

My problem was the pictures on the site made the notebook look like the cover would have a nice soft leather texture but the product itself was smooth and lightly marked which was dissappointing. But the biggest problem was one of the pages was ripped. If it was for me I wouldnt care but if was suppose to be a gift for a very close friend and details like that just made me a bit upset since I wanted an amzing gift for my friend. Also sysyemstic distress on the paper would be fine but there were weird creases and folds on some pages.

I would have retuned it but I was so busy looking for a good notebook I was short on time and it wasnt terrible.
Overall its a nice notebook but it lacked in the details and with so many other products like it I would not buy it again.

I love the product and will certainly buy it again, for my own use as well as to gift. Beautiful yellow hand made paper that writes beautifully, and is especially compatible with ink pens. The leather cover is meticulously crafted with finesse - the test always is check the edges of the leather and one can make out the effort and attention to detail.
