A great little toaster oven that can do a lot. Easy to use once you learn it. Easy to clean. A great color to compliment my other kitchen appliance. Not all food products can be cooked in microwave. You need an oven to cook them. This little oven sits perfectly on the countertop in the corner. Instant heat to cook your food compared to the larger oven that takes forever to heat up and the operation cost is significantly lower. It toast breads, used as an air fryer, a conventional oven, and a bit more. A kitchen appliance with diversity of use to heat food. No regrets! Thank you Toshiba!

Sounds Like a Metal Grinder, Consistently Burns Food, Bad Preset Design

We received 2 defective toaster ovens in a row, making me think this is an inherently flawed product. The first one looked good and worked great for a day. We thought it was weird that it took 8 minutes to adequately toast bread on the Toast setting, but it did seem to cook things well. Then, when using the air fryer setting for the second time, the fan made a horrible metal grinding noise on startup that could be heard all the way across the house. After 15 seconds, the fan would shut itself off so there was no convection in the air frying. Starting the process over would repeat the grinding sound. After a couple more times, the fan stopped turning on at all. Since there were no places to repair it in our area, we opted to replace it through Amazon.

Next unit comes, and this one starts off by burning our food. We cooked 3 different dishes in it on our first day, selecting the presets that matched the recipe, and the food would start burning around the edges within minutes, even with the tray placed the farthest away from any active burners. Also, the presets are difficult to navigate, especially since there was no reference to what the A01-A13 air fryer settings even mean in the manual - while not a deal-breaker, it would be much nicer to have more custom settings that will allow you to select burners, preheat, temperature, convection, and time instead of all these fixed presets that don’t even work. Then, once again on day 2, the fan started making the same horrible grinding noise and turning off. The oven is placed on a flat countertop with clearance on all sides and was gently handled by us, so I don’t know what would be causing this. We will be returning the second oven without buying a replacement.

Now, it’s possible that we could have coincidentally received two similarly defective ovens in a row. You may also think, hey, these guys might just suck at knowing how to use a toaster oven right. Really, though, I think there is just something wrong with the way they are making these. I would really consider getting another unit from a different company. You have now been warned.

Itʻs big enough to bake in and works great as an airfryer--no need two separate appliances. We use it to toast, airfry, reheat, and bake. Smaller than a conventional oven, so you wonʻt waste as much electricity heating as a large oven. Frozen pizzas fit great. French fries turn out crispy and the included frying basket can fit a lot.

First off, let me just say that I really like this oven. But there are things about it that could be improved. I'll start with those, then finish on the high notes.

I do not like the user interface. It has 13 functions, but you have to press the function button up to 13 times to find the particular one you want. This functionality would be much improved with a dial wheel, in my opinion. And the default setting is Airfry...that’s the mode it enters every time you turn on the oven. It would be much better if the default were Bake, or better yet -- user-configurable to the one you use the most. And speaking of Airfry, there are 11 presets under Airfry for different foods, but the display doesn't indicate what they are. And the user manual doesn't show what they are either, so that's a major fail. The only place I found any information whatsoever on the Airfry presets was a photo from the Amazon page for this product! And while I'm on the subject of the user manual...it is very short on detail. It doesn't show things that would be important to a new user, like the Airfry presets, or the recommended rack height for optimum cooking in various modes, or preheating (more on that later). Another drawback is that the Bake mode has a maximum temperature setting of 360 degrees. If your dish needs a hotter oven you need to choose another setting, like Roast, which is counter-intuitive. Some modes have a preheat indication and others don’t, but there’s no explanation of that in the owner’s manual. A new user might think the preheat period automatically transitions to the baking time, and the oven timer would start counting down when the oven is at the correct temperature. But that doesn’t happen; you just have to guess when the oven is hot enough. (I ruined a tray of cookies learning this lesson!)

So, having said all that, you might think I’m disappointed with this oven. Well, I’m not. It is sleek and stylish, a really handsome addition to the kitchen. It has a small footprint, but a large oven cavity. I measured the baking temperature at different settings with an external thermometer and found it to be very accurate. Just like the product description says, the oven keeps the heat inside very well and doesn’t heat the outside surfaces to dangerous levels, unlike other countertop ovens I’ve used. On that score, it does NOT vent heat out the rear, so no scorching to your backsplash or wall. As long as you have 3 inches of clearance on the rear and sides, and 5 inches above, this oven will fit your space. I used Pizza mode very skeptically, because the preset baking temperature is only 330 degrees, with convection. To my surprise, the pizza came out perfectly. There are 6 slots to slide the cooking rack/tray into, so lots of variability for cooking different foods. The interior surfaces have an easy clean coating, which is a real bonus.

So, that’s my take on the oven. There are things I wish the manufacturer would improve, but in the end, the features that matter are already in place. I’m pleased with my purchase.

Lots of cook functions!

I received this just in time for my Thanksgiving prep! I've used it for a few things and have been pleased with the outcome so far! We started with potatoes last night just to test it out, as it's a tried & true recipe. They turned out perfectly and I think it was quicker than the smaller old style air fryer I previously used! We tested out toast and found that you need to put the rack in the center to get even results. I also used the bake function and it went well!

It has a really sleek, modern look and fits in well in my kitchen. This is excellent for having an extra oven or other cook option when your oven is full. I am looking forward to testing out all the different cooking functions, including the dehydrator, as that just sounds fun!
