The rings seem really soft. Bedable, so could get disfigured if played with aggressively.
Overall very nice for younger toddler child.
Excellent value especially when bought as a set containing both items.
My babe loves to play with all things well... Not toy related lol - pots and pans with wooden spoons? Yes! Cardboard boxes? Of course!! Toys designed for babies/kids...? Uhhh naw, I'm good mom, thanks. In this case, however, babe LOVES this toy set - the shape sorter in particular (though he loves the rings as well). He loves to make noise, so picking the shape sorter up by the handle and shaking it as hard as he can is pretty much the best thing ever - aside from banging on pots with spoons, that is ;)
I do agree with some of the reviewers that say the lid is looser than the older versions - for my babe, it's really nice that he can pull the lid off to see exactly where the shape goes once he's put it in the proper hole. So the looser lid style makes that easier for him.
Overall, we are very pleased with this toy set! And for the price, it's very worth it.
My only complaint is that the lid does not snap or lock on in any way, like the old version I had as a child did. It makes it difficult to get a child to use the sorting holes when they learn that the slightest nudge takes the lid off and they can just toss the shapes in the top.
Only thing is you will need to give your feet some toc if you accidentally step on it while holding your baby or walking amongst her toys! Ouch!
