    We love LEGO! This set was a bit advanced for my 11 yr old daughter, but she has some fine motor challenges. It was, however, excellent practice in following directions (and the Lego instruction book is nothing short of amazing and easy to follow) and kept her attention on a project for a good long while -- which is basically what all us parents are really seeking from a toy. Big bonus: SIX minifigures!Only complaints: the jet works almost like a hand held gun, which you can hold and pull a trigger to rotate a center wheel. Very neat. But as a result, it doesn’t have a wide base and is unstable and top-heavy. Not sure if this is a design flaw or if Lego was trying to stay true to an animated design that isn’t very pragmatic in real life.Also, the little spider vehicle for the villain had a gun that really shoots. Very neat, but again, not pragmatic since the Lego literally shoots across the room—I am not exaggerating. Good luck finding the “bullet” pieces.

    My 6yo has so much fun constructing and playing with this lightning jet. The LEGO engineers did a great job creating a set that is both fun to play with and sturdy. The disc that rotates with a squeeze of a trigger is visually entertaining and the dart that launches from the front encourages Ninjago role playing. That Krab is no match for the Lightning Jet. Hehe! Wish it came with one more dart though since there it's a unique piece that I'm afraid will get lost soon.... The Jet is holding up really well despite being played with continually for the past week. Very solid build, functional and looks just like the one from the movie! My son and my favorite Lego set to date. Hope they will make more as fun to play with as this one is.
