Decent but room for improvement
I’ve had this product for a year and one month. The camera itself works well but seems to have issues switching into night vision now. It didn’t have that issue for the first 10 or 11 months. I have this camera in my backyard and I have it connected to the blink floodlight accessory. So the motion detection will go off at different hours of the night because of a stray cat and then all you can see is a black screen because it’s dark outside and the night vision doesn’t kick in. Even though the floodlight comes on it doesn’t reach far and just makes a bright circle in the middle of the all black screen. I never had this issue with it previously. It would always switch into night vision when expected and the flood light would come on making it where I could see a majority of my backyard at night time if motion was detected. I’ve changed the settings to try to put it into night vision 24/7 but it still doesn’t switch over at any point. (Pic included of settings) I have a second blink camera outside on my garage and it works fine in both normal and night vision mode still and seems to switch back and forth without issue. Now on to the doorbell. The doorbell has never worked properly since I received it and I contacted their support 3 or 4 different times and after waiting on hold for awhile I would just keep being told the issue is my wifi and to put it closer to the router/modem etc. I’ve literally moved my router to be right behind the doorbell and it never helped. I have two other blink cameras that are located in my backyard and on my garage, much MUCH further from the router/modem, and they connect and work just fine. The doorbell and cameras never have a live feed like they’re supposed to in the app. (Pic included just grey boxes) Instead I have to manually click on the video camera icon in the app to view the doorbell or cameras individually. The cameras load usually in 30 seconds and I can see what’s happening outside even though they’re located far away from my internet connection, but if I click to view the doorbell live feed I have to wait 2 or 3 minutes before it will load and actually show me what’s going on outside. (Pic included) The picture is SO blurry on the doorbell you can hardly tell what you’re looking at. Again I tried all the tricks that customer support requested I try (reset it, clean the lens, make sure I’m using the proper batteries, etc) and it never improved the image on the doorbell and so they again said it was my internet connection. All in all the cameras and floodlight I have work well and I would probably purchase more of those, but the doorbell is really not up to par compared to the cameras. I may have received a faulty doorbell camera but ultimately based on my experience with the doorbell I received I believe that product in particular needs some work. I do really wish the app worked properly as well and showed the live feed for each device in the list that comes up when you open the app without having to click individually on each item. However for the price I still think the cameras and floodlight work decently, but I wish I would’ve returned the doorbell.I also want to add they do have some nice features and have been adding more. I enjoy being able to snooze the cameras motion sensor so I don’t have to totally disarm the cameras and then remember to turn them back on later. I can just snooze them for an hour or two while I plan to be outside and then they automatically go back to being armed after the time is up. They also let you control motion detection sensitivity, clip length, how long to wait to record a new clip, etc.
