Cooking with Stoneware DO NOT use any Stoneware piece on the stovetop or any other direct heat source.	Heat Recommendations Le Creuset Stoneware is safe for use in the microwave, freezer, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and broiler. The maximum oven-safe temperature is 500°F / 260°C. Use oven mitts for lifting at all times.	Cleaning and Care For removal of stubborn residues allow the dish to cool, fill with warm, soapy water and allow it to soak for 10 to 20 minutes. Wash in the usual way using a plastic brush or scouring pad if necessary.

Great Dinner in a dish pot

I made a delicious whole chicken with vegetables in this dish. I cooked it with the cover off.. The chicken came out so moist and delicious and the vegetables were all perfectly cooked. I also cooked a roast pork with a salt and pepper herb mixture covered with apricot jam and topped with dried apricots and poured red wine over it. I let it cook at 350 degrees surrounded by small potatoes, carrots, and small turnips. I cooked it with the cover on for an hour and then I took the lid off and let it brown a bit on top watching it and checking the temperature inside with my meat thermometer about 45-60 minutes. The pork came out so moist. and we all enjoyed it out of the pretty dish. The pot is such a beautiful color and I so enjoy looking at it while I am cooking with it.

I have some of the Le Creuset cast iron pans and recently started getting some of the stoneware to match my cookware. As is all of the Le Creuset cookware, this piece is beautiful, both for cooking and for serving. I love that it can be used in the microwave and oven, and that it is dishwasher safe. It also cleans up beautifully. If anything sticks, wait a bit for it to cool and let hot water sit in it a bit while you eat dinner. Anything stuck will wipe right out. I have been extremely happy with all of the Le Creuset stoneware, and would highly recommend it. I would also recommend that you check prices on WalMart for the pieces that you want. If they have them, they are much less expensive than Amazon prices.

The Casserole itself was a good quality, however, it came with a chip. It was a very stressful and laborious process to return it to this vendor. The back and forth in order to try to settle the matter was not an easy or pleasant process. In the end, I had to send it back to the vendor at my own expense in order to get a refund. The refund was for the price of the casserole only and I had to pay the shipping cost myself. In the end I got the price of the casserole back from the vendor, but not my cost to ship the damaged item back. Lesson learned.
