I wanted a very basic and sturdy staple gun for a light duty project, and didn't want to spend a lot on it. This stapler surpassed what I needed. It is well built and reminds me of the solid Stanley staple guns that my dad had when I was a kid. The inside of the grip has a molded plastic which makes for a more comfortable pull when deploying the staple. I have smaller hands and this helped immensely. Not much force is needed to squeeze the handle, but you do need to have some level of hand and grip strength.
I used the stapler on a thick plastic liner for a wooden planter box. With about 2cu feet of soil and a dozen strawberry plants weighing it down, the staples are holding. The job was super quick with this stapler. I then used it to staple down three 18" lengths of garden wire to a wooden fence that is pulling an extremely large and heavy orchid that insists on growing at an angle. Again, the staples attached easily into the wood. I wasn't sure that they would hold the weight of this enormous orchid, but the wires are secure with just a few staples. I cross stapled, (creating an "x" with two staples), a point on each wire just for added strength and bracing, but the staples were holding without that.
This stapler is so affordable, but performs just as well as more expensive staple guns. As others have mentioned, not sure about replacement staples. However, it comes with a lot and they will last me awhile. For around the home crafty projects, this is a great value. For bigger more construction type jobs, you should get something heftier.
