No assembly required and sturdy enough for the price you're paying for. Took it out to the shooting range and held up through strong winds and weight of the guns. Overall satisfied considering the price I paid for it. Also utilized it as an extra dinner table and was sturdy enough for eating and sitting on. Without any weight on it, the middle portion where it folds seems to be not as flush looking like an inverted V shape.
