These lights look great and are very sturdy. I installed them using a coated steel cable kit to avoid putting any strain on the wires. The plastic globe covers over the real bulbs provide an extra level of protection from the elements.
After having them installed for about a year, a huge tree fell and ripped them down. Weeks later I was finally able to extract the light strings from under the tree trunk. One globe bulb cover was dented but there was no other damage. Both entire light strings still work perfectly! And I was able to un-dent the globe by pushing from the inside.
