I bought this vacuum nine months ago and felt the need to share a review. This has become my favorite vacuum cleaner of all time. At first I was disappointed with the battery charge life. But have totally reversed my original opinion. This hangs on the wall in its charger and is quick and easy to grab and use and is great on pet hair. Because of the ease of use, I find myself vacuuming more often for shorter periods… no longer a big chore… no more heavy vacuum with cords all over… no need for a long time-consuming cleaning episode… it’s just a quick and easier task now. I highly recommend this product!

I decided to buy the cordless Dyson vacuum and was not disappointed. The power and the versatility is unmatched. There is no other vacuum that is better than the Dyson. Easy to handle and use. Can get into the hard to reach areas. Powerful and lifts the dirt off from the carpet. Easy to remove the canister to clean. The only downfall is the battery life which lasts no more than 30 minutes so you have to make sure the battery is always charged. This is the best vacuum.

First and foremost, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this vacuum! However, the charger that came with the vacuum didn’t work. I thought I had charged the battery like the directions said. The battery itself actually lasted me almost a month, and I used the heck out of this vacuum. Suddenly, it was dead. I plugged it into the charger and tried to charge. No light registered that it was charging. I trouble-shooted this to no end. I registered this vacuum with Dyson. Dyson is the company that I am not actually happy with. When I discovered two days before my return time was up that the battery wasn’t charging, I contacted Dyson because they said the vacuum had a 2-year warranty. I received an email back saying that my vacuum was not under warranty. I was livid! So I chatted with an Amazon representative. I just wanted them to replace my vacuum, not return it. The associate kept trying to get me to return it. I said I would not because then I would have to pay a higher price to get another one (got this baby on Prime Day - do you blame me for holding my ground?). Finally, I sucked it up and bought a new charger and a new battery from Amazon to see which one was the issue. It was definitely the charger like I thought. I emailed Dyson a pretty strongly-worded email about my disappointment. I received a kind email addressing my frustration at my initial email. I emailed back that I had gotten a charger and that was the issue. Guess what?!! Crickets. No response from Dyson. Seriously, Dyson, you can do better. Charging so much for a product and then not backing up your warranty. Just gross. The tough part is that this vacuum is SOOOO amazing and wonderful to use. I can vacuum the dog hair off my stairs so easily now. That’s why this review is so complicated. Fantastic product. Lousy service from Dyson.

I bought this vacuum on Prime Day and LOVE it! It's great not having cords to watch out for, and the battery lasts a long time, I always forget I need to charge it since it lasts me so long between charges.

To test the suction I vacuumed with my old, corded vacuum first, then used the Dyson in the same area on the lowest power and picked up SO MUCH DUST. I was grossed out but amazed and excited to have something that would actually clean my space.

Dyson's Customer Service Is A Struggle

Update - I'm now reducing our review from 3 stars to 1 star. It doesn't matter that the vacuum works, it's taken us 2 months to try to get our vacuum fixed after the battery going dead within a month of receiving the brand new vacuum.

At this point, Dyson has had our vacuum shipped back to them for nearly 3 weeks with no indication when a new vacuum or the repaired vacuum will be sent back to us. In their system, it says the new vacuum has 'shipped' but they can't provide me a tracking number. So we now have no vacuum and we're out over $400. I'm sure we'll get it back eventually but who can go 3 months without a vacuum?

First, this is our third Dyson vacuum. They make good products when they work. They try to make big claims about their warranties and customer service but they can often be a struggle to deal with. They're easy to get ahold of, phone, chat, email they respond to everything but their agents just don't have solutions. Here's our process:

1. Phone call #1 - Spend 30 minutes troubleshooting with customer service and they determine it's a bad battery and covered by warranty. Says he can't place an order in their system for a replacement battery because it's out of stock. His only solution is I have to keep checking the Dyson website every 4-5 days until it's back in stock and then call back to order it.

2. Chat #2 - 8 days later the battery is still not in stock. I chat Dyson and this person tells me the battery will be in stock in the next 1-2 days and she can go ahead and place the free replacement order.

3. Chat #3 - 5 days later the replacement battery in chat #2 is still not shipped and I receive an email saying they 'cancelled' my order because the battery is not in stock. I chat with this person for 1.5 hours and they say they still have no idea when the warranty replacement battery will be in stock and they can't place a replacement order. After 1.5 hours, they say they will exchange the entire product but I must mail it back. I have to go to a UPS stock with the vacuum and they will package it up and ship it to Dyson at no cost with a return authorization code.

4. Phone call #4 - a day later, I go to UPS to return. UPS says that the Dyson return code is invalid. We call Dyson with the UPS rep on the phone with me. Dyson says they have no idea why the code won't work at UPS. Says we have to find a box for the vacuum (that's not that easy to find).

5. Chat #5 - I chat with Dyson and explain finding a box for a vacuum will be hard. They say they see the issue with the existing code and give me a new UPS return authorization code that will work.

6. Phone call #6 - I go back to the UPS store and as I expected, the new authorization code does not work either. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes with Dyson, they approve to ship me a box so I can package up the vacuum and then ship it back to Dyson so they can then send me a new vacuum.

I have probably wasted about 5-6 hours of my time trying to get Dyson to warranty a bad vacuum that broke after two months and I'm probably still weeks away from getting a replacement. While my previous two vacuums have worked, this one is a dud and their warranty process thus far has been complete crap.

If you get a good vacuum, you'll be happy with it but don't pay a premium expecting a good warranty process. I don't have experience with other top vacuum brands but I'll likely be looking elsewhere when the time comes.
