This 3 galtouchless trash can is designed and engineered by Ninestars, the world's first legal patent holder. With its sleek oval fingerprint-resistant design, it can be used in almost any place, such as the home, office, kitchen, bedroom, dorm room or a kid's room. This durable trash can uses the most advanced sensor technology which can be found in all Ninestars trash cans. Pass your hand or debris within ten inches or a 130° angle from the infrared sensor and the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand remains within the range of the infrared sensor. Three seconds after your hand moves away from the lid, it will close automatically. It fit's its price in my opinion! The motion sensor works fine. Its very light weight plastic. The top when closed is a little slanted up close but its no actual worry. I like it. The color is fun and cute. I put my bags like this on purpose but you can fold it inside the ring to hide it. I think if they lined the top as well as that ring that holds the bag with some type of rubber/silicone, it wouldn't be so flimsy to come off like it showed in someone else's review. If you have kids/animals that'll push trash cans around, it WILL spill your garbage out. This probably wouldn't be the bin for you.I recommend reading the instructions pamphlet completely in case your bin isn't working. There's tons of information in there that could help which I appreciated. If I have any problems I'll update this review. So far so good 🌟**UPDATE APRIL4/2024My motion detector/lid finally stopped working as of april 2nd 2024! I'm not surprised because after a while, the lid would lift weakly. I have a narrow nook in my bathroom between the toilet and the cupboard. Used to keep a standard Umbra narrow trashcan there, but a curious little kitten made me concerned about making a mess or worse, eating floss. (Floss + cat =$3k vet bill btw)
I’d hoped this automatic trash can would work perfectly in that same spot. It did fit perfectly, but due to a number of issues we had to set it up elsewhere. When you add an automatic trash to your routine, the change in behavior is a big factor. I ended up with garbage tossed at the closed can because I kept forgetting to wave my hand to open it, duh... Also the sensor is not THAT great and you have to really bend over right on top of it.
My solution was to move the can for easier access. If you have enough room for a possible alternate spot, I’d still recommend this trash can. It’s got a nice color and is quite attractive. Oh, my cat has already learned to wave his little paw to open it. Luckily he hasn’t worked his way up to seeing what’s inside. Yet.
