    I have about given uo buying socks on line. Many of these otherwise nice and well made socks show a faint band at the top which is hardly noticeable in the main listing. Many of this type of sock barely show anyone pulling at the top ..a quick pull does not replicate the condition of wearing them .. this type of sock leaves a noticeable ring indent just above the ankle when worn for much of a busy day.

    I have a dwindling number of older socks which do just fine but these newer ones end up at a thrift shop. Too much of a chore and mileage to return.
    Many of the photos of young ladies wearing them show a narrow pencil straight lower leg, so it is hard to gauge the top elastic. Which does not need to be that wide and that stout.

    I am not diabetic and most of those socks are too thick over all for most of my shoes.. the few dress ones have little color choice and don’t really work that well.

    Kmart used to have a nice cotton rich thin sock with a wide fake band of just the material doubled over. ..very minimal stretch but they stayed in place quite well.
    Another brand I just purchased has fine ribbing and that helps keep the sock in place. It has one very thin. Row of elastic at the top. Just like many socks used to have and my older ones have. They do much better to spread the effect of an overall stretch fit with light even compression.

    Just buying socks sight unseen is now a chore

    This is a .9-11 size and I wear a 9. Good thing I am not a larger shoe size as these would really be too tight at the top. The rest of the sock fits just fine. The wider top band isn’t that necessary. For every day all day wear these don’t fit the bill.: If you need stouter compression then get a sports sock.
