I got this pillow at the beginning of the year for a trip to Mexico and love it for the plane and at home! The best part about it is that I can bend it around my neck and then straight up so that I can lean my head against the plane window - most comfortable travel pillow I've ever used for that reason alone! It has a medium firmness and it takes a good squeeze to feel the metal rod in it - not noticeable in my opinion. It's substantial enough to put under your chin to prevent your head from falling forward while napping - the ends snap together to keep it around your neck. The bag is thin but has held up well and having it on a carabiner is very helpful. I've washed the bag and the gray pillow cover a couple of times with no issues. The zipper has a thin pull but has held up fine. It also came with an eye cover and earplugs too. Great value!
At home I sometimes use it under my neck while lying on my back or in various other positions because the flexibility gives so many options for support. I get migraines and having a pillow I can manipulate is often helpful.
I was compelled to come here to write a review because I bought a very similar pillow from a different brand for my mom for Christmas and it was terrible - I didn't even need to take it out of the plastic to confirm I would want to return it. The only reason I went with it was because of the faster shipping. It also has thousands of good reviews so I figured that despite looking like an inferior product it might be ok but I should have just bought her the Goose pillow even though it would have been a little late. I paid more and got less - not as supportive, no travel bag, thinner cover, etc.
I'm surprised the Goose pillow doesn't have more good reviews - I absolutely recommend it and hope to see it the next time I'm in the market for one again!

The pillow arrived just in time (one day before my trip) and I could immediately realize that it is of very good quality.
I was lucky that I had a seat on the bus next to the window, the lateral support position (lifting one of the sides) works perfectly, the internal support does its job maintenance the pillow firm in that position and the memory foam is so dense that you do not even realize that it has a plastic column inside.
