FWIW, these are initial impressions. I got these for long car trips, for cold/hot drinks. The coating is done well, the stainless steel guage is to me a good balance between not flimsy and not heavy. The straw-able lids fit well. Cups fit (mostly) into the cup holders on my vehicle. I can't speak to the durability of the coating, but even if it wears off, I figure what would be left is a ss cup.

Changing to 5 stars. After a week of daily use for cold and hot traveling by car, picnic-ing and beach-ing, the cups are quite nice, haven't suffered any noticeable wear (see pic). They keep cold and hot pretty well, the lids have silicone gaskets and are snug. I paid $15.12 for a set of 4, which I think is a great deal. Have not used them in a dishwasher, so I can't comment on that. They fit more on top of the car cup holders than in, but at least in my car's holders it's a secure fit.

- ergonomic - it feels good to hold.
- bowl-like interior at the base makes it easy to clean. It's also wide enough at the mouth to allow my entire hand inside for cleaning.

Very pleasing to the eye in its almost Brancusian simplicity. It's pretty and simple. I am very happy with this purchase. I'm considering other colors, but you may have noticed I'm a purist and the pearly white is perfection, in my not-so-humble opinion. ;-)

This is a pretty good looking cup and, at the time I bought it, cost me about $6. I was curious to see how this cup would stack up against the Yeti, which runs about 4 times as much. I set up an experiment where I filled a plastic cup, the Maars cup, and a Yeti Rambler with chilled water. This isn't a scientific experiment for a few reasons: (1) I used a 30 oz. Yeti Rambler and not the 10 oz. wine glass and it's possible that may have effected the results. But I didn't have a 10 oz. Yeti, which is why I bought these. (2) I didn't measure out the exact same amount of water in each cup. I basically eyeballed it. (3) My daughter drank some of the water out of the control cup part way through.

But don't worry, I'm not submitting this to any peer reviewed journal. Your mileage may vary.

The ambient air temperature for the experiment was 71.4 F, and all temperatures below are in Fahrenheit.

In sum, the Maars cup worked significantly better than the control in insulating a cool beverage, but also notably worse than the Yeti. Whether or not that justifies the Yeti's 4x price tag is up to you.

The perfect 'sippy cup' for adults

I have had my pair of tumblers for a few weeks now and love them! They keep my beverage of the day the same temperature for a long period of time and provide room for an ample amount of wine or a moderate amount of coffee; the liquid defines the descriptor. The lid fits snugly and will not pop off. It is not a true sippy cup, one that you might give to an 18 month old -- if you drop it or tip it over liquid will seep out. However, your precious fluid will not all rush out in a single gush of heartbreak and you will be able to recover most of it. The finish is very fine indeed, I have the 'Midnight' color and it has not scuffed, scratched or chipped with fairly heavy, daily use. The tumbler feels durable and so far has lived up to that feeling. I might just replace all of my mundane drinkware with these tumblers, I like them that much.

Overall a five star rating has been earned and is deserved. Good job Maars!

Love this cup for summertime. I needed something for outdoor wine drinking that wouldn’t shatter if/when dropped. I have dogs and love to sit outside in the evening.
