Green tea is a welcome addition to my low carb diet and I am always looking to try new ways to drink and prepare different green teas. I decided to try a matcha tea, so I needed a way to prepare it. This starter kit comes with all you need (minus the tea) to prepare a good cup of matcha.I placed the sifter on top of my tea mug, then using the included spoon, I poured the matcha in and sifted the tea into the cup. I poured the heated up water on top, blended it, and topped it off with a little more hot water. Perfect cup of matcha tea. You could also use this kit to make hot chocolate!The frother is made of plastic and was simple to use with just the push of a button. The stainless steel scoop and strainer are quality and make it easy to prepare the cup of tea.Caution: Don't use the frother when the cup is too full or it will spill over when you whisk it. Enjoy your matcha!

I love foamy matcha with plant milk and this is the only product I have tried that actually makes a traditional looking plain matcha with a great foam head, and a truly outstanding cream head with unsweetened plant milk (soy, coconut or pea protein types are all I tried). I have used matcha whisks, electric matcha whisks, tiny blenders, high power blenders, electric beaters....this little lovely bamboo whisk just works and it is a pleasure to use. You can use it to foam up steamed milk/plant milk of course, for any purpose––not just matcha drinks. It even comes with demo batteries that will last for about 30 uses. The kit is beautifully packaged with a matcha measuring spoon and a sieve. The whisk works so well, I have stopped using the sieve. It cleans up with one pass under the faucet, unlike all those other cumbersome methods I tried. Someone finally made the matcha whisk product for a devotée. Thank you!

This is the perfect matcha starter kit!

-1 star because my frother may be defective and unfortunately this item is not eligible for returns (in my case, I would want to exchange). When I first opened the kit, I noticed the frother was out of place in the box and I thought that was fine, it happens. But when I turned the frother on, the frother end was spinning widely rather than in place. Since then it’s been spinning properly, but I’m not sure why it seemed dislodged in the first place and how long it’ll hold up. Updated review to come.

Ordered the modern kit. The sifter is reasonably fine and appropriate for matcha. The scoop is robust. The frother is the weakest point. May just be my unit but the shaft is slightly off the rotational axis so when its turned on it flops around instead of spinning cleanly. I can get around this by bending it slightly prior to use, then gyroscopic (or something) effects keep it centered. This product would be better with a metal shaft or better QC.

The matcha was excellent though it was also my first so my basis of caparison is to tea bags. The starter kit though was horrible. The electric whisks control was unpredictable and would go from almost no power all the way to spilling your drink without much if any movement on the button even after I started trying doing the mixing in oversized cups and even bowls. I ended up using it in little half second bursts which the button is not well designed to do as it easily gets stuck in the on position and even when I succeeded in using bursts that would often make a mess of things. I don't use it at all any more. It was a total waste of money. At least it was cheap.
