Subtracted one star for the fabric. It's very thin, feels like it could tear easily if a stick falls off my tree, and the top piece of fabric near the cap has a messy seam with some fringe. The rest of the umbrella feels solid. The tilt hinge worked fine, the crank was easy, the color (turquoise) is nice. You will have to purchase a base separately since this product is just the umbrella. Overall I'm pleased. I'll update the review in a few months after some exposure to the elements. Do not buy the hollow base that you fill with sand/pebbles/water. Save yourself the trouble. This umbrella is heavy snd requires a solid base. I ended up ditching the fillable one after the umbrella falling over a few yimes. I bought a MainStays concrete base from Walmart and also bought a fillable circle sandbag umbrella base weight to sit on top of it. Solid now! You need a base with a tube coming out to drop the pole into, not just the base by itself.

This umbrella is a staple in our garden. The turquoise color is cheerful but not too jarring with the colors of the plants. After over a year, the color has remained bright with no visible fading. We leave it up all day long but put it down if the wind picks up which it often does when a front comes through or at night. I would not recommend cranking it up too tightly - it might break the mechanism. We would buy this umbrella again if we ever needed to replace it. Well made.

The only problem I have is that the tilt hinge is near the top of the umbrella pole, too high for me at 5'3" to reach standing at the outside edge of the table, so I always have to request a taller person than me to open or close the tilt feature. The umbrella has a nice summery look to compliment the patio. The fabric does a decent job of filtering out the sun in the area it shades. Happy with this purchase so far.
