Newsweek 今年第五度与全球市场数据研究机构 Statista 合作发布世界最佳医院排行榜，列出全世界超过 2800 家医院之中数据表现最好的 250 家。前 5 中有 4 家在美国，分别是榜首的 Mayo Clinic - Rochester, 得分为97.50，克利夫兰的 Cleveland Clinic, 波士顿的 Massachusetts General Hospital, 巴尔的摩的 Johns Hopkins Hospital. 前十中只有一家来自加州的医院，是 UCLA Heath - Ronald Reagan Medical Center.
Newsweek 的排名主要根据四项指标：
1. 来自 28 个国家和地区，超过8万名专家（医师、医院管理人员、医疗保健专业人员）受邀参加在线调查。参与者被要求推荐他们自己国家和其他国家的医院。不允许推荐自己的雇主/医院。
2. 患者体验调查结果，包括对医院的总体满意度、对医院的推荐和医疗服务满意度。
3. 医院品质指标，例如治疗成效与卫生措施和患者安全数据、医护人力等。
4. PROMs：这项指标是首次包含在世界最佳医院的评比中。PROM 被定义为由患者完成的标准化、经过验证的问卷，以衡量他们对自身功能健康和生活品质的看法。 Newsweek与 Statista于去年秋季与冬季联系医院，对各医院间使用PROM 的情况进行调查。
